What does Gillespie & Gibson do?

Gillespie & Gibson will be with you from start to finish throughout the claim process. We are your representative and advocate.  We will respond immediately to help facilitate all emergency repairs and to assist you with the many decisions you must face in the first few days after a catastrophic loss.  Our staff of qualified experts will handle every aspect of the claim process. Gillespie & Gibson will promptly review your policy of insurance and all of the various coverages it provides. We will inspect the loss location and all of its damages, conduct all meetings with the insurance company’s representatives, prepare the entire claim of damages for submission, handle all negotiations with the insurance company, and prepare all relevant closing documents for settlement. Our clients are, at all times, kept informed of the claim details and its progress.

 

Building Losses

Gillespie & Gibson’s experts will prepare all necessary reports of damages to properly assess and substantiate the insured loss and damage to the structure.  We will produce a detailed scope of damages with supporting documentation based on current construction costs. We will also assess all additional costs applicable to your specific situation including all related soft costs and building code compliance. Our reports are tailored to comply with insurance policy requirements.

 

Contents Losses

Gillespie & Gibson’s experts will inventory all damaged property including personal property, stock, fixtures, equipment, electronic media, and improvements and betterments.  Reports of damages to the effected items will be prepared taking into account degree of damage, depreciation, and replacement cost as required by the insurance policy.

 

Business interruption and extra expense

Gillespie & Gibson’s accountants will evaluate this very technical portion of the claim. All factors are considered in the preparation of this information including extra expense to continue your business, seasonal effects, and business trends.

 

Loss of use

Gillespie & Gibson will provide you with assistance in finding alternative housing during the reconstruction of your Home or business. We will provide the insurance company with the proper claim details to negotiate the period of restoration and amount of loss.

 

Why do I need Gillespie & Gibson?

After a loss occurs, the insurance policy requires that you as the policyholder prepare and present a claim of damages.  Once this claim is prepared and submitted, the negotiation process begins.  The insurance company representatives are expert at both policy interpretation and loss assessment. When do I call Gillespie & Gibson?

Immediately! The earlier on we are retained, the better we will be able to represent our clients interests. The insurance company will have their representatives involved at the onset of the claim and so should you.  It is better to prevent problems and mistakes from happening rather than to attempt to correct them later.

 

How is Gillespie & Gibson paid for their services?

Our fee is a small percentage of the overall settlement of the claim.  We require no money up front and there are no other expenses. Payment is due only after you have received your settlement funds.
